Meet Kacee and Anthony.
As is the case with lots of creators this year, the pandemic hit, and Kacee and Anthony were unemployed and ready to make their ‘Dos Cavazos‘ YouTube channel their full-time project.
We had a chance to talk to Kacee and Anthony and learn a bit more about their lives as creators.
Tell us a bit more about your channel.
We are a husband and wife duo who do live reactions and reviews of different shows on our channel! We love to explore different series and genres and create fun and entertaining content for people with similar interests as ours. People already love to discuss and theorize about their favorite shows with their friends, families, and coworkers. We are doing the same thing, but on a wider scale with our viewers!
Why did you become a creator?
Our channel started as a hobby, my husband and I have always shared a passion for movies and television and we thought, “we sit on the couch watching TV anyway, why don’t we just adapt what we are doing into a YouTube channel?”. A few months passed and we had achieved a few thousand subscribers and then the pandemic hit. Both of us were out of work and no longer had our full time “day jobs” to rely on. So our YouTube channel turned from just a hobby, to a way to support ourselves during an extremely difficult time both mentally and financially. These events pushed us to work harder to create more content and turned our YouTube channel from a fun thing we did together on the weekends, to both of our full-time jobs.
Where do you get inspiration for your videos?
Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead! We used to watch other reaction channels review these shows and we really enjoyed reliving our favorite (or least favorite) moments and hearing what other people had to say about them. It is fascinating to hear other people’s theories and thoughts, since everyone has different perspectives.
Who are some of your favorite YouTube creators?
Nikki and Steven React, Blind Wave, and The Normies
What one piece advice would you give to your fellow creators?
Consistency is key! It sounds cliché but it is true. Even if at first it seems your videos are not getting traction or you are putting more effort into your videos than it seems worth, persist anyway. You will be amazed at what can happen from a consistent posting schedule, so find a schedule that works for you and stick with it! This also gives you the best opportunity to see what is working for your content and what isn’t and to improve as you go, it is harder to do this when you post videos infrequently.
