Meet Holly.
A Mentor, Leadership Coach, Tech Geek, and STAR Interview, Holly started her passion for YouTube as a viewer, learning how to cook as a single mom, and quickly decided to share her knowledge as a creator herself.
We had a chance to talk to Holly and learn a bit more about her life as a creator.
Tell us a bit more about your channel.
I provide weekly livestreams to answer Amazon (FAANG Companies) interview and career related questions for senior-level and executives.
Why did you become a creator?
When I used to work for Google (a decade ago) I thought of having a channel but never thought I was good enough when Youtube became part of Google. I started youtubing how to become a minimalist and learning how to cook as a single mom and quickly became addicted to YT. I wanted to do something to share my knowledge and life experiences without being judged in an office (lol!).
Where do you get inspiration for your videos?
I remembered Sunny Lenarduzzi kept on coming up on how to start a YT channel. I have watched all of her videos several times and was inspired to start my own channel. I told myself that one day, I want to be found on YT by “buzzwords” too.
Who are some of your favorite YouTube creators?
In the last 3 years, I started to work on becoming a minimalist and was drawn to Matt d’Avella and Heal Your Living. I used to travel around the world several times a year before I became a single mom, just to EAT! Mark Wiens, The Food Ranger, and CupofTJ were my all-time favorite Asia-Pacific foodie creators!
What one piece advice would you give to your fellow creators?
It took me 8 months to gain 300+ subscribers. After VidSummit 2019, I was inspired to stay consistent, never give up, and make content to be known for! Through several YouTube coaches such as ShellySavesTheDay and Sunny Lenarduzzi, I went super niche down in an area where I know that you can’t just talk about it without the credentials to back it up.
